Moxie Arts NYC
A 29-Hour reading of a new play by Esme Maria Ng as part of Moxie’s Incubator program.
At a certain point in this play, May is going to kill herself. But before May dies, they're going to create their magnum opus - a graphic novel that encapsulates their family's experience during the Rape of Nanking. Meanwhile, their twin sister, April, is trying to have a baby. Inspired by the life and death of Chinese-American journalist Iris Chang, this dark and deeply funny two-hander takes a look at legacy, mental health, and healing from generational trauma.
And Her Children by Rosie Glen-Lambert and Hailey McAfee
June 5 – June 28, 2025
The Hobgoblin Playhouse, Los Angeles
Inspired by Dana Loesch’s infamous appearance at a Town Hall following the Parkland shooting, And Her Children investigates America’s gun violence epidemic through the lens of those who are paid to defend the right to bear arms. Time holds still as our contemporary Anna Fierling is plummeted into a liminal space where the audience is a stand-in for her own troubled conscience. In this imagined space, she grapples with two gnawing questions: Has she been selfish? And will she keep her job?
